Description Viewed from the base of the dump, the outside appertenances of the mining operation in Aldridge appeared like this nine years after its closure. The large building at the bottom was the washer, with the bunker directly above it. The tipple at the top dumped the cars from the Straight Entry and the Slope. The footbridge at the base of the the dump was built in later years (after the new Company Store was built on the tram line) for ease in crossing the Black Ditch which had washed quite a gully.
