Description " Horr, Montana, 1901-1904 - From the Horr-Aldridge road the coke town had this appearance. Plainly visible is the spur line serving the coke plant from the main Park Branch with the section house visible where the spur takes off. A side-track to the right handled extra cars. The depot is at the middle left. The school shown to the south of the town was built in 1901. The big Montana Coal and Coke Trading Co. store (finished in 1905) was not yet built at this time. Brandt's store was in the lower edge of town and the Chinese restaurant behind it." - Ald. - p. 20

"This was Horr Montana, 1901-04, coke town of the Upper Yellowstone. Pisor's big farm house is in the center of the picture, south of the town. Farther up country is Evansville, a little settlement where, Tom Sommerville said, Calamity Jane stayed. The depot from which she took the train for Livingston is in the middle left of the picture." - Cal. p.41
