Description Mule Skinners - With their mules harnessed for work in the mines, the drivers posed in the corral with their work-fellows. Identified are (in the very right front) Deo Thomas - always called that to distinguish from his father, David O.; (directly behind him) George Ferguson, and (on the white horse) W.H. Emmet, stable boss. It is remembered that he was a mighty handy man with a bull whip. He would whistle two or three times at the mules, and if they didn't get into action at once, he would get on his horse and really run them around. (This was a very, very faded picture - probably not the photographic work of the stable boss, whose pictures were usually in better condition.)
