Atop the Divide stood the Hoist House, where conversion was made from hoist to motor. The flat tram car was pulled up from Electric and it went under the house on the track. From there by motorized tram car people and freight followed the rails to Aldridge (here to the left). Towers for the power line on the tramway were as that visible here over Aldridge Lake in the background. For many years the La Duke boys, Julius and Albert, who had been reared at La Duke Springs, were responsible for the operation of the tramway.
