Small Motorcar on Tramway—This car carried H. A. Root of New York City, an official of the Montana Coal and Coke Co., his wife and (behind him) his nephew, Billy Arms, toward Aldridge. Jim Reese is shown here serving as motorman. The child is a grandson of the Roots. Billy Arms worked in The Company Store at Horr, and was later transferred to The Company Store in Aldridge in August 1901. Power for the motor was gathered from the dolly on the overhead cable.
